Jaap brings to the table a combination of extensive legal and board room experience, both nationally and internationally, and in public and private settings. Always calm and collected, he is the go-to person in crisis or other out of the ordinary situations, when matters are complex and the stakes are high. Jaap has an entrepreneurial mindset, likes to solve the puzzle, but will also fight to the end if needed.
Jaap’s legal expertise includes M&A, Corporate Governance, Corporate Litigation, Finance, Energy, Competition, Regulatory and Criminal Enforcement. Jaap was managing partner of De Brauw Blackstone Westbroek, general secretary of the Dutch Association of Listed Companies, board member of the Dutch Competition Authority, special advisor to the board of KPMG, and general counsel and member of the executive committee of AkzoNobel Chemicals / Nouryon, and holds several non-executive functions.
